The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Concerts at The Cloisters commissioned a gala 50th-anniversary re-staging of the 12th-century music drama The Play of Daniel, commemorating the pioneering 1958 production by The New York Pro Musica under the direction of Noah Greenberg. GEMS worked closely with Music Director Mary Anne Ballard, Stage Director Drew Minter, and Museum Educator Nancy Wu to produce the show. Four sold-out performances were given at The Cloisters on December 20 and 21, 2008.
The Play is being repeated to help celebrate The Cloisters' 75th anniversary. Twelve performances will be given on January 11, 12, 13 and 18, 19, 20 at 1pm and 3pm.
