Trios, quartets and sonatas from Haydn's decades of service to the royal Esterhazy family, including the Sonata in G Major for fortepiano, the String Quartet Op. 54 no. 2 in C Major and his late career masterpiece which synthesized it all, the cantata Arianna a Naxos, written in London in 1791.

The sophisticated craftsmanship and exuberant lyricism of Dietrich Buxtehude, Heinrich Biber, Philipp Heinrich Erlebach and their contemporaries set a precedent for Bach’s later masterpieces.

VENETIAN DUETS FOR THE LENTEN SEASON

Two Venetian duets for the Lenten season, the celebrated Pergolesi Stabat Mater and the recently discovered Canto Divotti Affetti of Giovanni Alberto Ristori (1692-1753), given its modern day premiere in 2005 by Ms. Gould and Ms. Lane.
