Le Roman de Fauvel is a fourteenth-century interdisciplinary collection of poetry, music, and art — rife with political and social commentary. It tells the story of an orange-hued half-donkey/half-human named Fauvel, whose contentious rise to power unsettles a nation. Concordian Dawn brings this storied tale back to life as a reminder of the ways both hypocrisy and deceit have the power to poison society.

Concordian Dawn brings twelfth through fourteenth-century primary source material to life for modern audiences across the country. The ensemble's “mesmerizing” (Early Music America) debut album, Fortuna Antiqua et Ultra, was released in December of 2021 to critical acclaim, and their recent collaboration with Medieval studies scholar, Sarah Kay, Medieval Song from Aristotle to Opera, was released by Cornell University Press in July of 2022.
