Improvisatory Orators: Music from 16th-18th Century Spain and Italy

Concentus 1 Much of the music from the 16th to 18th centuries was improvisatory in spirit. The Concentus takes you on a journey from the early works by Spanish composers Diego Ortiz and Antonio de Cabezón to the Italian masterpieces by Fontana and Vivaldi performed on the recorder, cello, viol, and harpsichord.

Alex Yu and Ka-Wai Yu have grown up playing together in a musical family. Masayuki Maki joined them a decade ago at Indiana University and later at CUNY. The three are now university faculty members and sought-after artists, travelling internationally bringing witty fresh stream of Baroque Music to the audience.
