Whether composing dramatic arias for the opera houses or writing chamber music and scared works for his all women orchestra at the Pio Ospedale della Pietà in Venice, Vivaldi imbued his music with passion and fire. In this exciting program, SIREN Baroque explores the many different genres of music that Vivaldi wrote for his Venetian audiences: sacred and secular, instrumental and vocal. We present two dramatic duets from his operas Giustino and Tito Manlio, a movement from his fiery sacred cantata “In furore iustissimae irae,” a pastoral recitative and aria from his secular cantata “Lungi dal vago volto” and two virtuosic instrumental trio sonatas, including Vivaldi’s show-stopping setting of “La Folia”.
