Bud Roach, Tenor and Baroque guitar
Much of the secular vocal repertoire in the early 17th century was published with "alfabeto" symbols, for accompaniment on the Spanish guitar. This popular genre of music was often performed by singers who would have sung to their own accompaniment. Accompanying himself on the baroque guitar, tenor Bud Roach brings to life the beautiful melodies and lively dance rhythms of Grandi, Sances, Monteverdi, and others.
