Vivaldi Project Marion Meakem 2017 600x420The Vivaldi Project’s continuing exploration of the 18th-century string trio, has found its way to Vienna at the cusp of the 19th century. This program features string trios by Maddalena Lombardini Sirmen (1745–1818), Francesco Zannetti (1737–1788), and Paul Wranitzky (1756–1808).

The Vivaldi Project has performed throughout the country and been heard on numerous public radio stations. Their recordings, “Discovering The Classical String Trio” were ‘CD pick’ on Washington’s WETA in November, 2019 and have been acclaimed as “period instrument playing at its best” by FANFARE MAGAZINE and “highly recommended” by GRAMOPHONE.

Midtown Concerts sponsors lunchtime performances of music of the 18th century and earlier. Ensembles are chosen by a panel of early music specialists from the metropolitan area.
