The Haydn Brothers .

The mature works of Joseph Haydn are beloved, particularly by professional musicians who have the opportunity to perform these works. Joseph Haydn’s earlier works, prophetic of the mature genius, give extraordinary pleasure when performed and heard. The works of his brilliant, if often tipsy brother Michael, live in the shadow of the London Symphonies and String Quartets of Joseph though they merit appreciation and celebration. If Schubert loved these works, so should we! This program offers an early keyboard trio of Joseph’s and a lyrical “Mozartian” Divertimento for violin and cello by Michael.
Olivier Brault ~ violin
Loretta O’Sullivan ~ cello
Andrew Appel ~ harpsichord
