Music for a While: A Composer Portrait of Henry Purcell
Purcell lived only to the age of 36, but the creative output of his short life was breathtaking. Repast showcases Purcell’s inimitable style with songs, fantasies, keyboard works, and the famous Chaconne. Soprano Sonya Headlam is celebrated for her magnetic vocal expression, and the English texts allow audience members to appreciate the beauty of Purcell’s poetic settings.
