Bacchanalia BaroqueA German Bacchanale: Dances & Instrumental Music for Winds and Strings

Join us for an intimate evening of music by J.S. Bach and his contemporaries. On the program is the Trio for Two Flutes and Continuo in G Major (BWV 1039) affectionately known as the "Big G Major" trio, re-worked by Bach himself for viola da gamba and flute. Also offered are trios by Buxtehude, Mattheson, Heinichen, and a selection of mostly German dances by Praetorius, Kerl, and others featuring two flutes, oboe, viola da gamba, and harpsichord.
