Twelfth Night NightingaleNIGHTINGALE

Featuring the two quintessential clarinet quintets by Mozart and Brahms and an all star line up of musicians, this is a concert you won’t want to miss! Both works are considered the greatest chamber works for this combination of instruments, and will be played on historical string instruments and a Basset clarinet.

“Nightingale” is the affectionate nickname Brahms gave to clarinetist Richard Mühlfeld, the musician that inspired him to come out of retirement to write some of his last compositions.

Graeme Steele Johnson ~ clarinets
Rachell Ellen Wong and Ravenna Lipchik ~ violins
Alex Grimes ~ viola
Christine Lee ~ cello
